Gassy basins such as the TX-LA-MS Salt (parts of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi – also referred to as Haynesville) and Appalachia (Marcellus + Utica) saw quick recovery from the middle of May to current as ambitious operators tried to maximize term agreements and nat gas futures. With $40 WTI looking sticky, gas-focused E&Ps are challenged with the possibility of weakened futures.
The Williston (Bakken) averaged about 30 spreads actively working each day from January to the second week of April before completion programs went cold. Over the last 2 months frac spreads have averaged just over 2 per day. (2.25)
